About the Center for Health & Safety Innovation (CHSI)
The focus of the Center, which opened to the public in May 2006, is to provide a meeting place for the exchange of knowledge between health and safety organizations, the research community and business, as well as for learning and innovation in prevention.
The Center replaces the head offices of three formerly separate accident prevention organizations. CHSI is a focal point for innovation and applied learning in the prevention and elimination of workplace injuries and illness.
The Installation
Advanced Presentation Solutions (APS) was responsible for the AV installation of all presentation and conference rooms in the building. The reception area was well equipped with 2 flat screens. APS also installed into the Center a divided presentation space composed of two rooms that could be used separately or combined with a Crestron control system, matrix switching, DSP (digital sound processor), wireless microphones, hearing assist and much more.
The main boardroom was equipped with Crestron control system, teleconferencing devices, DSP and wireless microphones. The project was completed in 4 weeks.

The Installation
Responsible for the AV installation in main boardrooms, training room and customer showroom. The executive boardrooms were equipped with high lumen Hitachi projectors and electric screens both controlled by an intuitive, easy to use Crestron system for the executive team. The two executive boardrooms were specifically designed to be virtually identical for easy transition from room to room. The main executive boardroom also featured an integrated Polycom videconferencing system which was primarily used to connect the executives with other Hitachi offices in the US and Asia Pacific. In addition a break out area was also designed into the room where users could work off to the side connecting to a Hitachi high resolution 55" plasma display.
The corporate training room was again designed in a similar fashion to the executive boardrooms but also featured a custom lectern and wireless mic system allowing the training to move freely from behind the podium and throughout the room as well.
The product showroom was designed to be a client showcase area for new Hitachi products such as projectors and displays. Displays of many types were installed throughout the room and connected using a matrix switcher allowing for both synchronized and independent images on all displays.
